Hello! How was everyone’s day? As promised, below you’ll find my healthy hamburger recipe. Of course, hamburgers are just not complete without their partner in crime, french fries, so I made a healthier and even more delicious (just go with it) version of those, too.
Let’s start with the fries, shall we? Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees. Then take a medium-large sweet potato and chop that baby in half, just like this one:
Then, cut them long-ways, in order to get the french fry shape. Arrange them on a sprayed baking sheet, and continue to spray the fries with PAM, or, brush with olive oil. Then, sprinkle them all in a little bit of salt and pepper.
Let them cook in the oven for 15 minutes before taking them out to flip over onto the other side. Then let them cook for another 15.
Onto the burger! For the burger you will need the following:
-3 oz lean ground beef
-3 oz low fat ground turkey
-1/2 portabello mushroom (diced)
-1/2 small onion (diced)
-1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
-1/2 tsp garlic powder
-1/2 tsp onion powder
Next, in a bowl, mix your ground beef, turkey, mushroom+onion combo, worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and garlic powder.
Create three patty’s with the above mix. Then, coat the same pan you used to saute the mushroom and onion with a bit of olive oil. On medium-high heat, place the patty’s into the pan and cook each side for about 4-5 minutes, or until fully cooked (or however you prefer!)
Place the hamburger onto a low fat, whole wheat patty. And finally,
