We are literally minutes away from Friday people, as I write this post, we are approximately 117 minutes away. Excited? Not so much. Kidding! I definitely am 🙂 Britt and I have a couple plans up our sleeves for this coming weekend and I couldn’t be more excited!
So let me get to the real topic. Hot oatmeal. One of my favorite breakfasts is overnight oats which is nice and cold. But hot oats? My favorite? Not so much. I feel totally out of the loop, though. Why does everyone love hot oatmeal so much? What am I not getting? Why is this frustrating me so much!
Of course, I had to make hot oatmeal this morning, just so I could try to convince myself that this is a really, truly, fantastic breakfast.
Into the oatmeal mix went:
-1/2 cup plain oats
-1/2 cup water
-1/2 cup Almond milk
-1 packet splenda
-a dash of pumpkin pie spice
Once the above was nice and warm, I placed the oatmeal into a bowl and stirred in 1/4 cup pumpkin, a couple tbsp of low sugar maple syrup, and 1 tbsp of sunflower butter. I also added a couple tbsp of granola.
The end product?
Alright, alright, so these weren’t bad. At all. The mix was satisfying and I loved how the pumpkin really added some extra bulk to the meal. However, I would take overnight oats any day over hot oats. Sorry I’m not sorry 😛
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a cup of this waiting for me…
Question of the Night: Hot oats? Overnight oats? Which team are you on?
